In local news, The Watauga Democrat reports that on Saturday, November 13th, the Boone Greenway Skatepark officially opened. After an extensive period of fundraising and planning for the eventual construction, this opening completes phase one of three, as the skatepark is intended to be expanded upon in the future.


In national news, The New York Times reports that The California School for the Deaf, located in Fremont, California, is now the highest-ranked team in their school division. With a long history of adversity prior to this season, this past Friday, November 12th, the Cubs defeated their opponent, the Desert Christian Knights, with a score of 84-12.


In world news, The New York Times journals that Monday, November 15th, Austria’s government implemented a firm coronavirus lockdown for Austrian citizens who are unvaccinated. The regulations are intended to battle a spike of infections within Austria, preventing individuals 12 and over from leaving their homes unless they are traveling to work or school, purchasing groceries, or are in pursuit of medical attention.
