Students participated in the 10-day Kellar Radio Talent Institute here at Appalachian State. While getting to meet industry professionals, these students were also able to take part in a live broadcast of 107.5 KZL's Jared and Katie in the Morning and a presentation by the Performance Racing Network at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The “Design with the Dean” challenge: a student was competitively selected to design and create an ensemble for the Dean. Junior ADM student, Andre Edwards, nailed it.
Last year 90.5 WASU celebrated its 50th anniversary. More than 100 people came to celebrate the milestone including WASU alum from every decade. Caroline Beasley, CEO of the Beasley Media Group, was the evening's featured speaker.

The Diversity Committee in the Department of Communication hosted its first FireSide Chat moderated by Professor Carlos Montero. The chat addressed cultural, political, and social issues related to matters of diversity, equity and anti-racism.
Recognition of Kevon Wilson, General Manager of App TV, who operates a top-notch professional studio but also developed the idea for River Street Rundown, a recurring interview series with the Dean and notable college students, faculty, alumni and friends.
Will and Delana Vickers were honored as this year’s Fine and Applied Arts Alumni of the Year. They were instrumental in promoting WASU’s 50th Anniversary and recently funded an endowed scholarship for communication and are faithful participants in the WASU Alumni Takeover Day.
