Nationally, NPR reports Home Depot workers in Philadelphia are voting on whether to form the company’s first unionized store. At the Home Depot location, over 260 employees are eligible to vote on whether to join the Home Depot Workers United. Results from the voting are expected Saturday night. If the union prevails, it would mark a historic moment for the country’s largest home improvement retailer. Other chains facing first-ever unions across the country include Amazon, Starbucks, Chipotle, Trader Joe’s, R-E-I, Medieval Time, and Apple Stores. In 2019, some 60 percent of Home Depot delivery drivers unionized in San Diego.
