Updates on Myanmar

By: Eris Lowdermilk

The previous democratic leader of Myanmar, Aung Suu Kyi was charged with violating the official secrets act. This is her fifth charge since the military coup took over at the beginning of March this year.

Suu Kyi, as well as other government officials, have been detained since the coup took place and the coup has also restricted wireless internet access for citizens.

Since the military coup, protests have taken place across the country, and airstrikes from the military have occurred, causing civilians to move to Thailand for safety.

Updates are to come.
