2020 is defined as the year with the most active hurricanes. Right now, hurricane Eta and Theta are currency active. Theta formed Monday night on Nov 9 and is a subtropical storm.
Meanwhile, Eta made landfall first in Cuba and Mexico, on the morning of Nov 8, as well as Guatemala and Honduras, causing immense damage in Central America. The Category 4 storm later landed in Lower Matecumbe Key late Sunday and released flooding amounts of rain in South Florida. Theta is now the 29th storm to land in 2020 and is moving at a regular rate in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean.
