Typhoon hits the Philippines and Headed Towards Vietnam
By: Eris Lowdermilk
The massive Super Typhoon Goni, equivalent to a Category-5 hurricane is defined as the strongest storm this year. The storm traveled to the main island of the Philippines on Sunday, Nov 1, killing at least 20 people. Over 450,000 people were forced to evacuate and many people lost power.
The pandemic has made it more difficult to manage, especially with COVID-19 patients in need, but countries like the Philippines face up to 20 cyclones a year and are prepared.
The storm is now on its way to Vietnam. Typhoon Molave recently just hit Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, killing at least 22 people.
