Tricky Triangle Thriller: Larson loses tire on final lap, Bowman snatches win at Pocono

Alex Bowman beat Kyle Busch by .68 seconds, after Kyle Larson had a tire go flat on the final lap, to win the Pocono Organics CBD 325 at Pocono Raceway on Saturday. The win is Bowman's third of 2021 as well as his fifth career win. Bowman joins Larson as the second driver from Hendrick Motorsports to have three or more wins this season.

William Byron finished third, followed by current points leader Denny Hamlin and Ryan Blaney. Kurt Busch, Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Larson, and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top 10.

Larson came into Saturday's race on a three-race winning streak and was in position to become the ninth driver in NASCAR history to win four in a row, the first driver since Jimmie Johnson in 2007. However, his left front tire went flat going into the final turn which caused his number 5 car to drive straight into the wall. Bowman, who lost the lead to Larson four laps earlier, drove right back by his teammate and stole the win.

The Pocono double-header weekend continues for the NASCAR Cup Series with its second race on the three-turn track on Sunday. The green flag drops for the Explore the Pocono Mountains 350 at 3:30pm on NBCSN.
