In campus news, AppHealthCarelisted the locations of 8 COVID-19 clusters in Watauga County on Friday. With 5 of those cases within App States’ athletics and on- and off-campus housing that is a part of the university. According to The Appalachian.


In local news, 25 JROTC Marine Corps Cadets from Watauga High School collected more than 500 pounds of trash out of the Watauga River from the Valle Crucis Park to the Watauga Gorge back on September 4th. According to the Watauga Democrat.


Under a new state law, a person is not eligible to serve as sheriff in the state of North Carolina if they have been convinced of a felony. Even if they have completed their sentence or if the conviction has been expunged from their record. According to The Watauga Democrat.
