Kevin Harvick held off Denny Hamlin, after taking the lead with 17 laps to go, to win the Pocono Organics 350 at Pocono Raceway on Saturday. The 44-year-old picked up his third win of 2020 and, surprisingly, his first at the Tricky Triangle after going winless in 38 prior starts. Harvick won at Darlington Raceway on May 17th, the first race in NASCAR's return from the pandemic. This is the third time in five races a FORD Mustang driver has won.
Polesitter Aric Almirola placed third for the second week in a row, rookie Christopher Bell finished fourth, and Kyle Busch fifth. Martin Truex Jr, Clint Bowyer, Michael McDowell, Brad Keselowski, and Chris Buecher rounded out the top 10. Bell's fourth-place finish is his career-best of the season. Last week's winner Ryan Blaney finished 12th.
Stage One winner Joey Logano finished 36th after blowing a tire with seven laps to go. Almirola, who led a race-high 63 laps, took the Stage Two win.
The Cup Series returns tomorrow for its second Pocono race in one weekend. Since there will be no qualifying due to new COVID-19 regulations, the top 20 finishers will start in an inverted order for tomorrow's race. This means that Ryan Preece, who finished 20th, will start first. The Pocono 350 starts at 4 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
