NASCAR Sports Update: Keselowski outduels Hamlin for New Hampshire victory (8/2/20) By: Josh Scott

Brad Keselowski beat Denny Hamlin by 1.6 seconds to win the Foxwoods Resort Casinos 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. The win is Keselowski's third of the season and 33rd of his career. The Michigan native also picks up his second win at the "Magic Mile", after winning his first victory there in 2014.

Martin Truex Jr finished third followed by Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick. Matt DiBenedetto, Aric Almirola, rookie Cole Custer, Chase Elliott, and rookie Tyler Reddick rounded out the top 10. Almirola extends his top 10 streak to a career-high of nine total after finishing eighth. Jimmie Johnson, in his final start at New Hampshire, placed 12th. Defending Cup Series champion Kyle Busch crashed out of the race early and finished 38th (last place).

Hamlin and Keselowski swapped the lead back-and-forth for most of the race. Both drivers also claimed stage wins, with Hamlin winning Stage One and Keselowski, Stage Two.

Six races remain until NASCAR's Playoffs begin. Ten drivers have already locked themselves in by winning a race and six others are currently locked in on points. William Byron, who finished 12th, remains in possession of the 16th and final spot by 15 points over Reddick. Johnson remains only 25 points back and Erik Jones, 31 points behind. However, a win guarantees a spot if any of the four drivers are able to do so in the next six races.

The Cup Series moves on to Michigan International Speedway for its second doubleheader weekend of the season. The FireKeepers Casino 400 will be run on Saturday at 4 p.m. and the Consumers Energy 400 on Sunday at 4:30 p.m., both televised on NBCSN. Kevin Harvick remains atop the regular-season points standings by 81 points over Keselowski. Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, and Chase Elliott finish out the top five.
