Impeachment Trial Updates

The current impeachment trial for previous United States President Donald Trump is the fourth one in U.S. history. The Democrats recently voted on Jan. 13 to impeach Trump due to the Capitol riot on Jan, 6.

This is Trump’s second impeachment trial and is currently on day three. Yesterday the House began day two by showing rare footage of the Capitol riot, as well as presenting arguments of constitutionality.

On Jan 9, the U.S. Senate also ruled in favor of the impeachment, declaring it constitutional. For what happens next for the House of Representatives, they will have 16 hours to present their case, with two of Trump’s lawyers present as well as Senators asking questions.
