Boone's summer baseball team, the Boone Bigfoots, officially clinched first place in the inaugural season of the Textile League after defeating the Catawba Valley Stars on July 20th. The red hot Foots are 23-5 on the season and have been absolutely dominant in their first year as an organization. From attracting big crowds, to winning big games, they do it all.
The Bigfoots are currently on a six game win streak and still have 13 games remaining in the season that ends August 8th. Their next home game is July 27th against the Statesville Owls. All Bigfoots games are played at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium.
