Appalachian State's men's basketball team has a First-Four matchup date with the Norfolk State University Spartans on Thursday, March 18th. The Mountaineers are making their third NCAA Tournament trip, their first trip in 21 years, while the Spartans return to the "big dance" for the first time since 2012.
Thursday's game in Indianapolis, which is where every tournament game will be played, is the first-ever meeting between the Mountaineers and Spartans.
App State won four straight games in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, including defeating number-one seeded Georgia State 80-73, to win the championship on March 8th. Norfolk State took down the Morgan State Bears last Saturday to win the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship.
The winner of Thursday's matchup will take on the number-one seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs, who come into the NCAA Tournament as the favorites to win it all.
Tipoff for Thursday's contest starts at 8:40 p.m. ET on truTV and the NCAA March Madness LIVE app.
