App State Remains Open

As App State is wrapping up the first two weeks of classes, the amount of COVID cases has remained steady. After UNC-Chapel Hill went completely online within the premiering weeks of classes, Chancellor Cheri Everts has confidence in App State students in spite of the city of Boone continuing social events such as parties and large gatherings.

In comparison to the other UNC schools, App State currently has (as of Aug 28) a total of 150 students, 25 employees, and 41 subcontractors. With only 38 active cases, the university remains open amidst pandemic.

Overall, as students, faculty, and the staff of Appalachian State University, maintaining at least six feet distance between others while wearing masks endures. The UNC System maintains updates on active COVID cases at the 17 colleges. Updates can be found here.

Stay safe.
