App State Baseball lost their series against Georgia Southern on the road 1-2. The Mountaineers won the first game 10-7, then proceeded to lose 6-8, and 5-19, respectively. In the last game, the game was called a Georgia Southern run-rule victory, as the home team led by double-digits after six-and-a-half innings. The baseball team now shifts their focus to the visiting UNC Asheville Bulldogs for a home matchup at 6 PM tomorrow.
App State Softball was swept in their series against South Alabama. They lost the first match 0-9, the second match 2-5, and the third match 0-1. Next up for the softball team is an away game against Western Carolina.
And, the Mountaineer tennis team increased their win streak to five after defeating Radford 5-0. The Mountaineers quickly won the doubles point Sunday with victories at all three courts. On court three, Olwyn Ryan-Bovey and Helena Jansen won 6-1. On court two, Maggie Pate and Virginia Poggi teamed up for a 6-2 win. On court one, Ellie Murphy and Savannah Dada-Mascoll won 6-3. The match was called after four quick singles wins by the Mountaineers.
