In Graham, North Carolina, voters participated in a march with the theme of “I Am Change”, on Saturday, October 31 honoring George Floyd and those who have died from police brutality.
Tensions rose as officers used pepper spray and facilitating arrests of the group. The Graham Police Department said they made eight arrests.
The rally’s purpose was to encourage voting, especially when North Carolina is a battleground state.
Unfortunately, the rally ended shortly after incidents of arrests and pepper spray. The leader of the rally, Reverend Gregory Drumwright gathered people near a monument of a Confederate soldier, honoring George Floyd.
