In local news, one of Beech Mountain’s new attractions to the town is a sledding hill at a new location; the upgraded hill and park avenue has witnessed increased traffic since its inception. Beech Mountain’s town manager explained that the town originally added the new location due to the total visitors and the need for social distancing at the height of COVID. In state news, Lowe’s Hardware is teaming up with Petco to offer pet supplies, beating that customers want cans of dog food along with their cans of paint. The first Lowe’s with a Petco will open in February in Alamo Ranch, Texas with 14 stores opening up in Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina. According to The Watauga Democrat.
