In campus news, members of App States solar vehicle team took first place in the American Solar Challenge. The competition is designed to build and drive a solar powered cars in a timed rally event across the country. According to The Appalachian.


In local news, Dalton George an App State alum, was unanimously elected to be a member of Boone Town Council. He is currently the youngest public official in North Carolina and the second youngest official ever in North Carolina. According to The Appalachian.


In state news, fall in North Carolina is expected to be brighter and more vibrant this year, meteorologists say the biggest factor influencing the fall weather is through a climate phenomenon called “La Niña” that contributes to an increase in Atlantic hurricane activity. According to WRAL.com
