In campus news, Bailey Gardin and DJ Evans will serve as the new student body president and vice-president for Appalachian State this upcoming 2021 and 2022 academic year, according to The Appalachian.

In local news, Luke Combs announced on his twitter account that his concert at Kidd Brewer Stadium scheduled for May 1 has been postponed to a new date that is currently to be determined. The concert was postponed due to the restrictions that the state of North Carolina still has in effect, according to The Appalachian.

In state news: A North Carolina bill proposes to make the Friday of the ACC men’s and women’s basketball tournament a state holiday. This bill would add to the 19 state holidays that the state already celebrates. If passed the bill would allow North Carolinians to support their teams by attending the games or by other means of support, according to WXII 12.
