In local news, Foggy Pine Books is offering one free book to Watauga county residents through the Free Books for Boone Program. The owner of Foggy Pine Books said they started the program at the start of the pandemic because they knew people were probably needing something to do while they were stuck at home. In national news, Hard Rock, a global gambling hospitality and entertainment company has three potential sites on which it could build a casino in New York City. The company, owned by Florida’s Seminole Tribe, will open a new $400 - $500 million hotel in Manhattan in April, and has plans to open a new $2 billion dollar casino in the city. In world news, President Biden warned on Thursday that Russia could invade Ukraine within days, as violence spiked in a long-running standoff in eastern Ukraine that could provide the spark for wider conflict. According to The Associated Press.
