From around campus, campus dining halls anticipate modifications. According to The Appalachian, renovations to the dining hall are aiming to begin in May and end before the 2023 fall semester. Changes to Central and Trivette will include new accommodations to the new dining format that they introduced in fall 2022. Improvements include: renovating self-service areas to facilitate foot traffic, replacing the self-serve equipment with more fitting utensils, and updating past renovations.
From around North Carolina, a juvenile responsible for bomb threat at the North Carolina Zoo has been identified. According to WXII 12, investigators have identified the suspect they said was responsible for the bomb threat towards North Carolina Zoo on Monday. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office stated that the zoo received a bomb threat around 10:43 am. Over 1,000 guests had evacuated with assistance of zoo deputies. Upon further investigation, there was no suspicious items found after looking through the zoo.
In national news, three students and three adults were killed in Nashville shooting at a private Christian elementary school. According to the Washington Post, the suspect was a former student. Officials said that Hale was armed with two AR style weapons and a handgun. He is also dead after being shot by police. Police are still investigating what the motive was.

For local App State sports news today women’s golf heads to Atlanta, Georgia for the Georgia State Invitational. The Mountaineers hoped to improve their luck this year after a 16th place finish at Low Country Intercollegiate at Hilton Head. Tomorrow Women's Track and Field heads to Austin Texas to continue their outdoor season. Softball will play a doubleheader tomorrow against NC Central in Cary, North Carolina; Currently 16-10. Finally App State Baseball took on Queens once again in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are currently 13-9 after winning 3 of their last 4 games.
In national sports news, yesterday Lamar Jackson in a series of tweets announced he had requested a trade from the team on March 2nd according to ESPN. Ravens coach John Harbaugh however still thinks Jackson will be his QB come the 2023 NFL season. For March Madness the scene is now set for the Final Four Matchups that will take place on Friday for the women’s and Saturday for the men’s. However, I want to take one moment to talk about a standout player I’ve seen in this tournament. It's been Caitlin Clark for the Iowa Hawkeyes Women’s Basketball Team. Clark against Louisville scored the first 40 point triple-double in men’s or women’s NCAA tournament history. This win over Louisville thrust Iowa into the women’s Final Four for the first time since 1993.
