In local news, the NCHSAA (North Carolina High School Athletic Association) wants the public to be aware of a growing trend in internet scamming. There are hundreds of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube events being promoted that appear to be a real live stream, but they are pushing for personal information or sometimes trying to install malware on a device. According to The Watauga Democrat.


In national news, a military training jet crashed in Fort Worth Texas on Sunday. The pilots of the jet were injured but were able to eject from the jet before it had crashed. The jet also damaged three houses in a neighborhood and not seriously injuring anyone else during the crash. According to the Associated Press.


In World News, lava continues to slowly flow from Spain's Canary Islands off northwest Africa. The head of the regional government said Monday he expects no injuries to the people in the area, after about 5,000 people were evacuated. According to the Associated Press.
