Amy Coney Barrett Joins Supreme Court

By: Eris Lowdermilk

New Supreme Court Justice, Amy Coney Barrett has been appointed after Senate approves with a conservative majority. The vote was on Monday evening, Oct 26 with 52-48. Democrats attempted to delay her confirmation, but the Senate was victorious. The White House celebrated her confirmation immediately after, and face masks were a requirement at the event.

Though there are mixed feelings amidst this confirmation so close to Election Day, Barrett will hold a position in the highest court of the land, with many decisions to be made.

For example, next month the Supreme Court will be hearing a case on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate.
