At 90.5 WASU FM - THE APP we pride ourselves in being number 1 because, well...we ARE number 1!  We are proudly the recipient of the 2012 MTVU College Radio Woodie Award for the best college radio station in the nation!  There is never a dull moment inside the offices of WASU, we are always having fun!  We specialize in bringing you the best in music and keeping you up to date on what's going on at Appalachian and in the community.

I'm form Asheboro, NC which is home of the North Carolina Zoo...and no, I do not live at the zoo, although sometimes people think I do.  This is my junior year as a Mountaineer and also my 3rd year being a part of WASU.  I am an Electronic Media/Broadcasting major and a business minor.  I got involved with WASU as a freshman being a DJ and doing some volunteering and then served as the Director of Interactive Media my sophomore year and I am very happy to be serving as the Programming Director this year.

I got my start in radio with my Dad broadcasting local sports and also still work at the local AM station at home WKXR, which some people like to call the "Kickin' Chicken."  I also work for 2 stations in Greensboro NC: Rock 92 which is home of the famous 2 Guys Named Chris Show and    107.5 KZL.  Radio has always been a passion of mine and I couldn't ask to be in a better position.

Catch me on air Mondays at 7 and tune in to "Rockin' Into the Night" Monday nights at 8!

App 1800 - Chancellor Peacock Steps Down

In our final show for the semester, App 1800 focuses on continuation, as Chancellor Peacock joins us in the Wey Hall studio. Following his decision to step down and the announcement earlier this month, the Chancellor discusses with us the reason behind his choice, and where he's going to go from here.
